VAN NUYS AIRPORT TAXIWAY B REHABILITATION
Owned by Los Angeles World Airports, the Van Nuys Airport is one of the busiest general aviation airports in the world. The Taxiway B rehabilitation project encompassed the reconstruction of this 8,800 foot taxiway, including full-depth asphalt pavement reconstruction, installation of LED centerline and edge lights, upgraded signage, new jet blast-resistant fencing and grading and drainage improvements.
To minimize disruption to airport operations, the project was divided into 9 phases, which included shortening Runway 16R/34L for 73 days and twice closing Runway 16L/34R to use as a temporary taxiway.
