The Park at Van Nuys

KDG provided project management oversight for the construction of this “propeller park” at Van Nuys Airport. Located on the old Air National Guard site, the propeller aircraft facility was constructed under the terms of a lease with Pacific Aviation Development. The project includes more than 30 acres dedicated solely to propeller aircraft, and includes 350,000 square feet of commercial offices, new hangars, a new terminal and restaurant.

Phase 1 included the relocation of 76 portable hangars, construction of two buildings each holding 12 new rental hangars, self-serve fuel facilities and a new Prop Park pilot lounge.

Phase 2 featured five new buildings, each holding eight hangars to house large propeller aircraft, and the first twelve offices attached to the hangars, providing a “store-front” feel for the tenants.

Project plans also include a communal hangar for pre-1950 military war birds and consists of over 30 acres dedicated solely to propeller aircraft.
