As a Woman and Minority-Owned Firm, and assisted by a Team comprised of several other diverse firms, KDG will support OIAA’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and Terminal Improvement Program (TIP) at Ontario International Airport (ONT).
Glendale, Calif., February 28, 2023 – KDG announced that it has been awarded the contract to provide PMCM Services for OIAA’s CIP and TIP, which will have an anticipated construction cost of over $600 million. KDG’s contract was unanimously approved at the OIAA Board Meeting on January 26, 2023.
The OIAA currently has several capital projects approved. These projects are in various phases of design and construction. Additional projects will be brought to the OIAA for approval. Collectively, these current and future projects represent ONT’s CIP and TIP across the entire airport campus. As the PMCM, KDG will work collaboratively with OIAA to ensure the success of these transformational projects at ONT.
For this contract, KDG partnered with key subconsultant, Hill International, a leading program/project management, construction management and project controls firm. Hill brings 45 years of national and international experience in delivering innovative solutions to major airport projects.
In addition to its association with Hill International, the KDG Team assembled a bench of technical resources comprised of ten diverse subconsultants to support this project. Moreover, KDG is proud that 90% of these subconsultants are local to the region. The KDG Team includes: DBE/SBE/MBE certified firms (CMTS and Thurai Consulting), DBE/SBE certified firms (SafeworkCM and S2 Engineering), an SBE certified firm (G3 Quality), an SBE/WBE certified firm (Guida Surveying), a WBE certified firm (Chrysalis Global Consulting) and local firms (Burns Engineering, Gannett Fleming and Leighton Group).
KDG President and CEO, Lydia Kennard, said of this project, “I am proud that KDG has been selected for this contract. As a previous Executive Director of Los Angeles World Airports, I have a long association with ONT. Being able to participate in the upgrading of ONT for the next generation of passengers is an exciting opportunity for our firm. We are honored to participate in advancing ONT’s status as the gem of the Inland Empire, with the goal of maximizing OIAA’s revenue while minimizing operational impacts and, most importantly, enhancing the passenger experience.”
