New Offices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania establishes footprint for national construction management and pavement engineering firms.
Pittsburgh, PA. – June 14, 2020 – KDG Construction Consulting (KDG), a leading provider of construction management services for major public infrastructure projects, and Quality Engineering Solutions (QES), a full-service pavement engineering and construction inspection firm, today announced the opening of their joint offices in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
The move by KDG to create a permanent location on the East Coast ties in with the company’s strategic plan to build its business in new geographic markets. KDG first opened its offices in California in 1980. While the firm has had various offices in the west over its 40+ year history, Pittsburgh is its first office in the Mid-Atlantic region. KDG is focused on construction management disciplines including: project controls, quality management, logistics coordination, and contract administration.
“We are positioning KDG to provide our excellent standard of service to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions,” Hurley Gammon, Vice President – Business Development for KDG says. “KDG has a wealth of talent and capabilities to offer and this move will create a foundational platform from which we can deliver support to local agencies. The move also delivers much needed office space for our growing staff.”
KDG’s mission ties in well with its sister company, QES, which is focusing on expanding their services within the region as well. QES’s clients include the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike and has long been established as a local pavement engineering and construction inspection firm. QES’s move into Allegheny County allows the firm to continue to serve local agencies within the area.
“QES came under new management last year which has created an opportunity for exciting growth for our organization,” comments Pete Capizzi, Vice President – Business Development for QES. “QES was founded in Pennsylvania and, despite delivering services to clients in more than 25 states, this new office in Allegheny County evidences our commitment to continue to serve our clients in our home state.”
KDG and QES partner with agencies that are working today to create the cities of the future. Their participation on large infrastructure projects requires broad and seasoned expertise to ensure decisions being made now will be viable in our ever-changing and increasingly complex world.
“Last year, we began a concerted effort to invest in the Mid-Atlantic and more broadly the entire Northeast of the United States. Opening the office space in Allegheny County is the next step in our mission to strive for growth and success,” says Lydia Kennard, President and CEO of KDG and QES. “Pittsburgh is a city filled with people who have a unique passion and pride for their city. We are proud to grow our presence and commitment here.”
